This class is designed to show participants some of the techniques I use in my own paintings, and registration is a month at a time. I will let you know the topic ahead of time so you can provide your own reference material; that way, we all have unique paintings when we are through. Most weeks begin with a demonstration that I will video. Afterwards, the students will work independently on their own canvas/panel and I will be available to assist them. This class is limited to only five students.

If you are so new to oils that you do not have supplies, you will have an option for me to provide the paint, mineral spirits, and brushes for an additional fee, but please look at the list below for additional materials.
I have the following available to use:
- paper towels
- palettes
- easels
- palette knife
- palette scraper
- and coffee (if desired)
Supply list:
- Recommended Paint - Permanent Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, French Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue (or Thalo), and Titanium White
- Paint OPTIONS - Diox. Purple, Cadmium Orange, a Magenta (or Rose). If you want neutrals: burnt sienna, yellow ochre, raw umber and ivory black
- Sketchbook of your choice (optional)
- Pen or Pencil for notes or sketching
- Brushes (for oil)
- Palette knife
- Palette (I prefer to work on a glass one)
- Liquin or Liquin Impasto (both optional)
- Odorless Mineral Spirits (OMS) Mona Lisa or Gamson are popular brands
- Your choice of canvas or panel
- Canvas paper for color notes
- Wiring canvases for easier transport (optional or $1.00 fee per canvas if I provide the supplies, first one is free)
- Disposable gloves (recommended, not required)
- Apron (optional)

- I have indoor cats so take precautions if you are allergic.
