Ode to Julia and Jacques
Two of my favorite chefs come to life in this cooking class. I am grateful that Jacques Pepin is still with us, cooking up a storm. And of course Julia Child's birthday is August 15th. To honour them, we will step into the kitchen and learn some classic French cooking with an Alberta twist. Get ready to learn how to make a traditional potato and leek soup that can be served hot or cold, a classic nicoise salad using 104th Street market vegetables, a vegetable gratin with fresh herbs and buttery crumb, AAA Alberta beef Steak Diane, roasted potatoes in brown butter, and finally a blueberry galette with “popcorn” whipped cream.
You can join us for this class on two dates:
Tuesday, August 8th --- 6:30 pm start
Tuesday, August 15th --- 6:30 pm start
Tickets are $145/person, plus GST, which includes food and wine/beverage pairings and all the recipes. These spots go quickly and each class runs 3 to 3.5 hours. There is a maximum of 8 people per class.
