Chocolates 1: Making Chocolate Snap and Shine (Tempering)

In this 1.5 hour class, you will learn various techniques for chocolate tempering. Tempering gives your chocolate a shiny or glossy look and when you bite into it, you can hear and feel the snap. We recommend taking this class before Chocolates 2: Coloring and Filling Truffles. 

  • Chef Mark will share some chocolate and food science and demonstrate various ways to temper chocolate so you can get the shine and snap of professional artisan chocolates. 
  • You will have the opportunity to try out what you are learning by making a few types of chocolate bark.  
  • Bring home with you the chocolate bark that you make. 

No chocolate or cooking experience necessary (Level 1 class).

We will have hot coffee and tea available, but feel free to bring other nonacoholic beverages with you.
