$140 + $50 material fee

Transform a character into a large sculptural bust! Day 1 students will create their character on paper and learn how to plan their build. Sculptures can be up to 10” and can be made into a functional sculpture by planning at this beginning stage. Functions could include but not limited to a planter or holding vessel. Planning will be followed by 3 days of sculpting. Students will learn sculptural techniques to make their creations safe for the kiln as well as surface and texture techniques.  The final day will be adding any details and underglaze colors to the character bust. Our goal is to have clay projects fired and ready to be picked up approximately 3 weeks after the class is held. Once the clay projects are ready, participants have 14 days to pick up their projects.
