Crafty Fox Studio is officially a Mobile Studio! We are currently working on building our online store so in the meantime we will be using this order form for our Take Home Kits. Please read the following information carefully before placing your order.
- Placing an Order: The order form is divided into sections to better organize all the pieces we offer. If you need to view pictures of the item please visit our website www.caftyfoxstudio.com and you will find the same section headings and pieces labeled. Once you choose your item(s) you will choose your colors in the text box at the end of this form. Once you have selected your pieces, colors, and optional brush items, you will select your pick up date. Please read the information on pick ups below.
- Color Options: You have the choice to use our glaze paints or our acrylic stain paints. Please read the description of each option before making your selections. Glaze Colors are indicated by numbers while acrylic stains are indicated by letters. Please do not put "purple" or "green" as we have a variety of shades. If you simply list color names we will choose the shades for you.
Glazes: This is our fired option. If you glaze a ceramic piece it must be returned to us to be fired in the kiln. Glaze colors dry a dull. chalky color but the colors become vibrant and shine once they have gone into the kiln. Glaze is food safe and is the only option for pieces such as plates, bowls, mugs, cups, and planters. Basically if food or water will touch it then you need to use glaze.
Acrylic: Our acrylic stains appear more watery than paint you might be used to. This allows the color to saturate the ceramic piece and allow to the piece to become actually stained. These colors are vibrant, do not change, and dry an matte finish. You may add an glossy acrylic sealer once the piece is dry to give it a shiny look. Acrylic IS NOT food safe. Acrylic is only for decorative pieces and cannot be used on items you plan to eat or drink from.
- Paint Brushes: We recommend that everyone who purchases a take home kit purchase a set of brushes just for ceramic painting. We recommend two sets, one for acrylic and one for glaze. Keep you brushes in a plastic bag or box labeled "acrylic" and/or "glaze" so you know which is which. Painting with brushes that have been used with acrylic, oil, or watercolor should NEVER be used to paint with glaze. Cross using brushes with glaze can affect the outcome of the firing. We offer 10 brush packs for $3 or you may purchase your own brushes from any craft store (like Michael's). Looking to purchase high end brush sets (for those who paint at home a lot) please contact the Studio for more information.
- Pick Ups: We are typically available for pick ups Monday-Friday. If you would like to pick up on Saturday or Sunday you must call 201-455-3289 to schedule a time. As a mobile business these times are subject to change due to factors such as pop up shops or off site events. Orders placed on Saturday or Sunday may not be available for
same day pick up, please plan ahead for best options. Once your order is placed Kristin will call you to establish your pick up window. Your Kit will be ready during that window once it is scheduled.
If you have any questions or need more information please call 201-455-3289 or email Kristin@craftyfoxstudio.com.
