Mandalas
- The very nature of creating or painting a mandala is therapeutic and symbolic.
The word Mandala means ‘sacred circle’ and is derived from the word ‘mandra’, which means ‘container of essence’. This circle or ‘container of essence’ is said to represent wholeness, health, connection, unity, harmony and the cycle of life. It is also said to symbolize being one with life, going with the flow, and reflecting inward.
The shapes and colors you create in your mandala art therapy will reflect your inner self at the time of creation. Your instinct and feeling should inspire and guide you through the process of creation.
Focus on your drawing-painting, and let your creativity flow.
Your mandala is your sacred circle, and it tells your story. Drawing-painting mandalas as a form of art therapy can reduce anxiety, tension and overall stress. Drawing stimulates creativity and is a way to release emotional blockages.

Instructions and tips
Colours (testing tile add to the kit)
Underglazes are more vibrant and hued than regular colored glazes, so they can give a more bright and creative look to pottery. You can also mix underglazes to get different tones.
Green-blue + black and white
Pink + black and white
Purple + black and white
Neutral (black and white)
Underglaze can be applied on greenware (unfired pottery) "your pots" in this case, or bisqueware (fired pottery before it’s glazed). You can paint your pots with a brush, use a stencil or trace a design with pencil and painted on top. Don't worry about erasing the pencil markings, it will burn out in the kiln :)
Note, we will apply a layer of transparent glaze over the underglaze before firing your creation.
