Let me be candid for a minute. We go through life, we get older, we have this fascination that we can do all the same things we’ve always done, even though our bodies are changing. I’m not here to tell you what you can’t do anymore, I am here to help you keep doing it. There is so much focus on changing our lives and leading a more meaningful existence, and it has all become very trendy! I’m not here to try and turn you into someone else, I’m here to help you find your bliss in what you do, without being distracted by aches and pains. There’s a term for being so hungry you turn angry, but what’s the term when you’re angry as a result of the frustration and disappointment you feel with your body?

Our current lifestyles exist with so much stimulation that we forget we were not meant to live this way. People used to recharge in the winter months and thrive in the summer months. The recharging process took an entire season!! Now, we’re lucky if we have time to sit down and share a meal with our family during the week. What the heck has happened? Development, technology, urban lifestyles, they are reflections of fire and transition. That’s not a bad thing!! It only becomes a challenge when we live the fire day in and day out, and
then turn to an intense power workout to blow off some steam. Meanwhile, our bodies are tense, our minds are frazzled, and we keep throwing more fire on top of fire. We think we feel great! It’s hard not to with all that energy coursing through our veins. The misconception is you’re burning off energy, when you’re burning off toxins. You are creating more of an invisible bonfire within yourself that eventually will deplete your immune system. We can stop this with the proper self-care, that still allows us to have those power workouts we love.

At the same time, our work is killing us. Whether we are on our feet all day, or sitting in a chair all day, perhaps operating heavy machinery. It’s all damaging and repatterning our bodies, our fascia, our muscles, causing damage and off balance in our skeletal system. Our bodies hurt at the end of the day. We get our massages, we go for physio, we see a chiropractor. We feel great for a few days, and then the same pain comes back. It’s a vicious circle, isn’t it?

So, what can we do? How can you determine when it’s time to go, when it’s time to stop, and when it’s time to float? How can you figure out how to release a muscle that needs to let go, as opposed to forcing it into a damaging stretch? How do you know to listen to what your body is telling you? You can have the power workout, there’s a time and a place. You can lay around on pillows, which – surprise, surprise – is also a workout!!

I want to help you release your body, release all that has been suppressed down into your fascia. I will work with you to learn about YOUR specific conditions and past injuries and trauma. Together, we will develop a custom practice that is specifically designed to release your muscles, repattern your misalignment in the body, and then to strengthen and open your body to feel ease and freedom again.

Our first 60 meeting will cover your first practice, which you must commit to a Restorative practice, every other day, for two weeks. All props required for your practice, as well as two different restorative options, will be provided for you. You will also receive videos of your custom releasing practices.

Our second meeting will cover your practices required for repatterning. The postures will be adapted to suit your specific needs, as well as video support so you may complete your practice at home, with the support and cues for proper alignment, breathing, mudras, and more.

Our final meeting will cover your ongoing steps to build your strengthening practice. Again, you will be provided with video support for the postures adapted into a Vinyasa, to strengthen and increase your breathing and endurance. Our breath is everything, our third meeting talks more on how to control it.

At the end of our sessions, you will have:

Two (2) releasing Restorative Practices; Two (2) re-patterning Yin practices; Two (2) transformative Vinyasa practices.Practices will be laid out in two formats: video, and paper copy (illustrated with yoga stick figures)
